They are soo pretty. It just amazes me how many different colors chickens can be. Those spurs are huge on candy cane. I can't wait til my chickens all have chicks. It will be quite interesting what comes out of it all.

That is really interesting, when people say that their chickens stop laying for the winter times I was thinking that they halt altogether. Raising chickens is quite an experience. I must say that I love my EE as well, she is quite the bird of the bunch. I am also hoping that all my chickens start laying before the fall. If they don't, does that mean they won't start til spring?
I think you have two pullets based on the comb size. By 15 weeks a cockerel would have a much redder and more prominent comb, looking more like the comb of your older hen (who is an unusual female EE color and very pretty by the way!).I have not been on here in a while. This is one active thread!!! If you don't mind I have 2 EE's that are about 15 weeks old and I can't tell their sex. I really want one to be a pullet but am doubtful. Here are pics of them & their mom.
Here's the one on the right up close:
Here's the one on the left:
And here is the one I think is Mom
I would greatly appreciate any help. I think if anyone can tell me its the dedicated EE thread people![]()
I don't see a single boy - they are all beautiful! Can't beat $2!!I have 9 little pullet chicks I got at the feed store at a week old. They're 7 weeks old now and are moving out to the grow out pen tomorrow! They're either all girls, or a chance there's 1 boy(I have my suspicions!). Hoping for a boy actually, but I dont think I'll get it.. I'm so used to being overrun with boys when I hatch here, It was nice to actually go out and buy sexed chicks! And at only $2/each!!This is my new favorite picture.
