Rita doesn't yell that much when she's done, poor girl's probably exhausted because she lays such huge eggs and she's so small.

Now that I have finally heard the egg song - I have to say that I also thought the chicken was saying "it hurts." Maybe not. In any case, it seems like very much a release after the laying. All the other gals join in, too -- it's like folk song with a chorus. Reminds me of Scottish waulking songs.

Anyhow, I'm glad I don't have to lay an egg once a day.
