the [egg] wait is driving me crazy!!!

Gah! They are about to be 21 weeks, and they haven't even started squating yet! I keep going out there and staring at their combs every day just to see if they are getting redder...I swear my speckled sussex's comb keeps getting redder, but I think she is just teasing me!

Mine are 22 wweks and still notihing! They don't even go back into the coop at all during the day! They seem to want to get as far away from it as possible. No reddening or squatting either. Glad to know that I am not the only one waiting for the freeloading to stop.

One of my Dark Brahmas laid one egg about a week ago. Nothing since from her or her sisters . Yeah, I am getting a light out. They have been eating too much for too long not to start laying some eggs. The feed bills are killing me!:p

and the saga continues...man, her comb looks red!

I'm waiting too!!! My girls are going on 20 weeks--I have the nest boxes ready, filled them with pine shavings, and placed a fake egg inside of each nesting box. I know someones been in them cause there was a poop in one and in the other the shavings were all messed up, the 3rd box is untouched. Out of the 5 girls, one has a much redder comb and longer wattles, so does that mean she will be the first to lay an egg?

So will we see them squat? Do they do that in the nest box or do they walk around squatting? Will I know it's a squat if they do squat? LOL!!!!

I had posted before that the girls were 20 weeks--I just counted the weeks and they will be 19 weeks on Nov 9th. Here is a pic of 1 of the girls who is the most developed. So does this mean she will be the first to lay an egg?
