The EggCam -- TAKE A LOOK - live monitoring!

Tiffany,

The temp could've been a bit low on average... the classroom can be quite cool at times, and we DID candle a lot... how late of a hatch, I wonder?

still nothing....guess I'll have to wait and check back in the morning. Come on baby lets hatch!

Quick question--does this cam take still pics every few seconds or is it like live feed? If it's still pictures, it kind of looks like there's movement as the egg is a bit blurry on certain edges. Could just be the glare or me seeing stuff that isn't there though

What day is it now?

Sigh... I am so sad! I took the egg out and candled it today, and it appears to be a goner. There is a full-sized embryo inside, but it must've died late in development. The good news is, I have 3 new eggs that just arrived, ready to be placed in the incubator!

Is it really sad to open a dead egg and see the embryo? I'm debating whether or not to do this...

It is pretty sad. But I did open mine to see if they problem had been something I could see. The membrane on some of mine was like shrink wrap on them and they pipped through the air pocket but could not move their body to reach the shell. So I did learn from opening it I guess. Sorry to hear about your egg. With only 3 eggs, your chances of getting a viable chick is just so much smaller than if you had more eggs in there. You know? Good luck.

Marie

Thanks for the warm wishes -- I didn't realize I'd be so sad if I lost it!

I'm going to open the egg tomorrow, and HOPEFULLY set the new three. HOWEVER, I spilled water in my incubator today when I moved it, and it doesn't seem to be working right! I really hope that I didn't ruin it. I was trying to hurry and set the eggs after school while my crying child was in the car with my mom, and I got careless, I guess... the eggs are waiting for me to set them tomorrow!

If all goes well, I'll set the webcam up on these, too! Cross your fingers for me!

Okay, we did it... we cracked the egg today. Inside was a fully formed little brown chick. I think that perhaps the power outage was the death of it, because it looked completely normal and healthy. Sad.

The good news is, I've set my 3 new ones in the incubator! I have the webcam up and going... of course, there won't be much to see for a while! This time they sent me two very pale brown eggs and one white one which has a really odd shape -- elongated. Cross your fingers for better luck this time!

I'm so sorry about the little chick. Was it positioned correctly, with its head at the large end of the egg?

I'm sending out good vibes to the new eggs...(waving fingers)...
