Hi! I’ve been a lurker on this site for a very long time and now with a flock of my own I decided it was time to join! My husband and I bought a home on a little less than 1 acre about 2 years ago (we are beginners :) We own a small bar and are based out of Omaha, Nebraska. The plan was to get just a “couple chickens” - I think you fellow chicken lovers know how that worked out! So now we have a flock of 8 and counting! I have 1 Isa Brown, 2 Plymouth Rocks, and the rest are unidentified rescues and crosses. This has become such a fun hobby for us both! So glad a community like this exists! Thanks in advance for any and all input!

Glad you're here Storey Fam! Set up the shots and I'll be there! :D

If you haven't yet, please make your chickens a FIRST AID KIT for any issues that would arise.
It's definitely better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it.

Also, make sure your coop(s) have a proper amount of VENTILATION. Your chickens will absolutely thank you for it! :D

G’Day from down under EggSTOREYdinary :frow Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
