I've been putting her up to my ear and her breathing sounds normal. No sneezing wheezing runny nose or eyes. I did watch her stretch her neck and take a few big breaths a few times right after I got her but nothing recently.
have you felt to see if maybe she has become egg bound?

This was 4wks or so ago?

If you have not seen any signs lately, then I think she will be fine.

Hi

This morning a few goslings hatched underneath my broody hen. One of them is bobbing and twisting its head in all directions as if it doesnt have any muscle strength or control. The others seem fine so i doubt it has something to do with nutrition or vitamins. The gosling doesnt seem to have any obvious injuries either and everything else seems fine. Obviously the jerking neck has affected his walking too, so though his legs are working fine he topples over every couple of steps. Please help I'm not sure what to do!
Oh! He just pooped now... its a yellowy white, slightly bubbly liquid does that mean anything?

Thank you for reading.

Sorry about your gosling. Do you think you could post a photo (if possible). Im thinking wry neck might be the issue. Here its an article that might be able to help you!

Is she still on the nest with them?

Thank you for the replies!

The gosling is in the brooder by himself now as his condition is not improving.

I've read up a little about wry neck and the symptoms sound similar. However, I dont think the problem is due to nutritional deficiency as the gosling has just hatched this morning and hasnt even eaten his first meal yet, his parents get sunflower seeds ( high in vit e + selenium) everyday. do you think it could be anything other than wry neck?

Heres some photos, but he doesnt really hold his head like that....its constantly moving to and thro-setting him off balance.

I do have a (human) multi vitamin supplement on hand which contains a looooonnnnnggggg list of vitamins and minerals and trace minerals and enzymes AND amino acids!!! This includes VIt E and Selenium. Would it hurt to give him some just in case it is wry neck? If so, how much and how often should i dose him? Seeing as he cannot walk/balance do i need to hand feed him?
Thank you for your help.

It doesn't need food right now, but a little water might be a good idea. Do not give human vitamins if they're in pill form. Infant vitamin drops (without iron) or Nutri-Drench for poultry are okay. Ha it pooped again? When it does, please post a picture of the poop.

Can you post a video?

Ok. Here's my emergency.
I have a 2 1/2 year old hen that was showing signs of slow or sour crop. She wasn't eating, was by herself, so I isolated her. Checked her crop next morning, was squishy and doughy feeling. Have been treating her since Friday for sour crop, following directions from 2 crowS. She's been a tremendous help. Crop seemed smaller yesterday, and less doughy. She ate some egg and drank some water. Today she's worse. Now her breath is putrid. She won't even take water dripped on her beak.

I started her with two crows cinnimon, ginger, baking soda drench for two days, followed by probiotics, miconazole, and wormer in case that's what started all this.

Can I do anything else for her? She's feather over bones now, mostly lying down, occasionally twisting her neck and opening her mouth.

Help! I IM'D two crows, but I don't know when she can get back to me.

I need help!!

I recently purchased 4 hens. After a day their combs became pale, one became very lethargic. Now they all have pale combs, lethargic, under weight from not eating, swollen and watery eyes, and had worms. I treated for worms, gave them electrolytes, vitamins, VetRx, Nutri-drench, oatmeal, fresh herbs, and put them under a heat lamp. Only one has been able to reopen her eyes and moves around much better. I have gotten two to finally eat without having to be forced with a syringe. They were also not drinking any water so I had to force that too. I am not sure if there will end being a positive outcome but I'm trying. I plan on giving them a scrambled egg later today to get protein in them. Anything else I can try? I hate seeing them like this. Any advise will be appreciated.
