Can your vet send him for necropsy? Hopefully that would give you better answers.

there is no avian vet here. that's why I never take for granted when he says something. it looked to me more like IB. I took 1 pullet that was in his flock to the vet and she is fine. the pullets have been vaccinated for IB and not for MG. it looks like a sort of proof that he died from IB or other than MG. we have a lot of wild birds around.

I didn't see this post in a timely way. She got better with little to no intervention though, so yea!

she needs antibiotics. I prefer baytril as it helps with more infections. I give them 2 drops per 1kg of body weight (diluted in little water and syringed) for 3-6 days.

NEW EMERGENCY:

~Cochin bantam hen, just turned 1, she is VERY underweight.
~She went broody, and about a week into it she... I don't know, couldn't extend her neck. She cant eat or stand without my help, and she cant bend her head around to preen.
She was/is really weak, and I have to hold her food up to her head so she can eat and drink. Sometimes she'll drink without help, but only if I'm holding her up. She can't stand on her own, but I can tell that she wants to. She tried to hop up on a brick last night to get on the roost, and the momentum carried her straight forward and she almost face-planted in a fresh pile of poop. I gave her some dandelion leaves last night, and an inchworm, and she loved it.
~ Since Memorial Day.
~ She is the only one.
~ I suspects he might have gotten a spinal/neurological injury, maybe from one of the bigger girls trying to chase her out of the box, but she isn't bleeding from anything.
~ I'm feeding her mostly chick starter, I've given her corn a few times and it piqued her appetite.
~ Its on the runny side, but normal other than that. Little stinky broody poops.
~ I gave her some pain relief. Crushed a baby aspirin and dissolved it in a bottle of water, but she didn't really improve.
~ I'll go get a picture of her this morning.
~ She's in a wire rabbit cage. I don't want her sitting in poop, but I'm going to put some sawdust in with her today.

One of my two day old chicks (I am thinking EE) has not fluffed out yet! He/she is dry, and my older 3 day old is fluffy. Any ideas why?

Sounds like her fluff got wet, and instead of fluffing up, stayed flat. Have you tried rubbing her gently in a towel to loosen the fuzz?

I would check her for lice, mites and worms. it would be dangerous to worm her now but you can put some garlic and cayenne pepper in her water or feed. that should help to expel some worms if there are any. do it for 2-3 days only. give her a dust bath for lice and mites.

Hey all! I have a very mixed and integrated flock of chickens of all ages. I am feeding them all starter crumbles and fermented starter. I have oyster shell in a different feeder BUT it is accessible to the teenagers and little chicks.

1. Will the teenagers eat the oyster shell? Or is it their instinct not to?

2. I am finding red/maroon poo around the yard and outside the coop! Never seen anything like it! Any ideas what this is about?

My Chicks dont eat the oyster shells.They will eat it when they need it.Can you take a picture of the poop?.Red poop usually means coccidiosis.If its small its probably coming from your chicks.I would recommend getting some corid(Which can be found at Tractor supply).

Thanks! I do have some Corid. It's 100% maroon like red velvet cupcake batter, not like red blood in it. Very odd! I looked at a poop chart and it's close to a picture on there but not quite. I'll take a photo here soon!
