~~~The European Freedom Fighters!~~~ A Shifted-Reality Second World-War Role-Play Thread!
It's been a long time since I did any RPing. I'm probably classified as an RP dinosaur by now. :lau But I like your idea - I'm interested in WWII and other 20th century history. It would be interesting to join - I might not remember how to RP properly, but I can give it a shot. :p
Is just 1 character okay? I don't think I could keep track of too many, lol.
I'm really glad to see that a lot of people, girls as well as guys, share a few of my greatest interests.
One character is perfectly fine, Fierlin, and you can make more characters later on if you feel like it. I sometimes had the same problems with remembering which characters were doing what, which ones were from which threads, and so on...
Though nowadays its much less of a problem because most if not all of the RP-threads I've been a part of have either died or I've just not been able to keep up with them and dropped out.
I think you'll do just fine with starting to role-play again, as well, I bet it'll start coming back to you sometime soon, once we start or soon after that.
(As for everyone else, if you feel like you want to join, go right ahead and make a form or two or however many you want, then just slap 'em on the thread! No need to PM me your forms for now, since the thread is still fairly young. I'm presently working on a detailed map for the front page, which should be done before too awful long! I'm also going to put up a few bios for main "leader" characters on both sides, as well as a few more personal characters of my own. Keep spreading the word about this thread to anyone you think might be interested, and thanks again for all the support!
I'll make my form now.
You can see it below anyway, if you want.
I'll make my form now.
E.F.F. Character
Name: Nikolai (Kolya) Kuznetsov
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Home Country and Town/Region: Leningrad, Soviet Union/RSFSR
Personality: He doesn't have a very large presence, so people tend to underestimate his ability to do, well, anything. His loyalty to his cause is admirable but at times he can get a little irrational.
Appearance/Picture: Short, fluffy brown hair. Has failed thus far to grow a substantial moustache.
Crush: -
BF/GF/Spouse: -
Skill/Talent: Excellent at making and breaking codes.
Weapon of Choice: Rocket launcher - one of those things where you light some propellant at the bottom of the tube and shoot out your projectiles at some distant target.
E.F.F. Home Group: Antwerp
History: Kolya was born in the USSR and became a communist when he was in his teens - not a popular decision among his family and associates, but he never got on much with them anyway. He grew up in a relatively well-off area and decided he would join the war against the fascists after he finished school... That wasn't a great idea, he was caught in Stalingrad and put on a truck bound for Germany - however this was shot at by some Allied soldiers during the journey, allowing Kolya and his comrades to escape. He's wound up in Belgium thanks to some discreet creeping through the countryside, with no way to get home just yet, able only to speak a bit of crappy English - he's since learned a few words of German, but is quite terrible still at French. He lived in a small town somewhere still in Allied control, and made the one trip into Antwerp for supplies. On this trip he stumbled upon his division of the EFF by total accident when attempting to order a coffee at the local cafe, which turned out to be a front. The EFF frequently send him coded correspondence disguised as family letters - the group is planning a big attack on a bridge which the Germans use to bring supplies to their base.
First, I think the weapon you're talking about is a mortar launcher, which tends to be a two or three-man set-up. It also requires a reasonable amount of training to use properly. If you still want some kind of ranged, explosive WoC like a rocket launcher, then maybe choose something a little more specific like an M1 Bazooka or a Panserfaust (Literal translation: Tank-fist) or something like that. Secondly, near the end you were talking about a coordinated attack on something vital to the Germans "base." First off, the Germans don't really have a single, primary fortress or base (except maybe Berlin, but that's a whole city and one of the largest in the world at the time). They would have a few primary Foreward Operations Bases (FOB's) on each front, but no singular headquarters like you're implying. Also, that wouldn't really be something to put in a character bio; we can still have something like that happen early on, but it shouldn't be in your character's form. Other than that, its accepted; I'll put it on the front page as soon as you fix those couple things.
Thanks for the feedback - man, I really do not know much about anything. :/
Let me try again, keeping to something I can probably do realistically.... perhaps I'll make him void of any particular abilities, like me. lol...
E.F.F. Character Form
Name: Kenny Robinson
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Home Country and Town/Region: Technically it is Berlin, Germany
Personality: Has the wrong idea about most things but occasionally says something useful. Not a very co-operative or likeable fellow at the best of times.
Appearance/Picture: Fluffy brown hair, annoyingly short...
Skill/Talent: None, apart from the fact that he can sing pretty enthusiastically, though not very well, which is probably a useless skill to have in the middle of the war.
Weapon of Choice: He doesn't know how to use any sophisticated weapons. But his friends will teach him later.
E.F.F. Home Group: Rotterdam
History: Born in Berlin to diplomats. He remembers Germany, they left when he was 11 years old, when things started getting dangerous. He grew up after that in some relatively prosperous part of London - doesn't like Britain too much as it is, and Germany even less, but what's one to do? He's actually buggered off to the Netherlands with his savings because he wanted to hide from his parents, who were adamant he go join in the fighting now he's done with school, because it's his "duty to his country". Right, of course, my country, Kenny thinks. He's developed a strange attachment to the Netherlands though, and actually made a few friends here, who convinced him to join their EFF group and provide moral support at their meetings with spirited singing of songs about freedom, or something.
