The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

My master bedroom, 12x15, is my quilt room now. The other one is 11 1/2 ft x 10 ft 5", but with a huge bump-out box thing in one corner that accomodates the basement stairs head space because there is no hallway in this house, plus a small closet and two doors, one into the main living area and one into the bathroom..oh, and two windows. Can't even make the best use of the space that's there because of all those intrusions.

Thanks, Cheryl.
I sold these two quilts over the last couple of days. I need to sell more, but I'm grateful someone loved both of these. I would love to liquidate my entire cabinet so I have room for more. At some point, I can't make anything else because where the heck would I put it??

Oh, I played musical pens again today. Aimee, one of my two oldest Belgian D'Anver hens, during the night had flown over Hector's pen and was on a length of pipe stuck between two sections of fencing up high near the front of the barn. She didn't like the new pen. So, today, I moved Bash into Atlas's newly enlarged pen, Atlas into Hector's original pen, the bantams back into their original barn pen, put Zara in with her sister Athena who lives with Old Hens' Group #1 (Georgie, June, Neela, Alice and Wendy) and moved them into Bash's pen.
Now, Bash has the largest pen in the entire barn, which makes sense. Eight hens are in Bash's slightly smaller former pen, but larger than where they had been. Hector has an 8x8 pen for him, Thea, Jill, Maddie and Jane and those two young girls are not mercilessly hassled by Zara. The bantams seemed very relieved to be back home again and that pen has no gaps for Aimee to fly out of. She hasn't flown in ages so she really wasn't thrilled with her new digs. And that's it! No more moving! :barnie

M old memory foam bed relieved almost all my discomfort when sleeping. Even on a quality pillow top mattress I wake during the night stiff, roll over in pain, apparently from the pressure on my muscles, then try to go back to sleep. Fixed that with a 2" MF mattress topper.
My only beefs with them are 1. They are freezing cold in the winter when you crawl in bed and 2. They make me feel too hot when they do warm up or in warmer weather.
But overall I sleep so much better I will always have one.

I was afraid I'd be too hot, but I was also afraid that I'd get another "normal" mattress and end up hating it all over again. I was having terrible pain at the pressure points on the hips (side sleeper). Maybe this will help.

They had to order the nightstand so will deliver it when it comes in, but by tomorrow night, I'll have a different mattress. And then, I have to get a different pillow, ack! Eventually, I'll figure out this sleep thing, LOL.

Since the mattress set is in such pristine condition, rather than have the furniture company just haul it away, I put it up on a FB yard sale site for $25 for the set, in case someone desperate for a mattress could use it. I got probably 20 responses immediately and someone is coming to pick it up today. Hey, $25 is $25 and he got a set that may do better for him-he's a super skinny looking dude, probably won't make a dent in it, LOL.

Mattress is gone. First guy couldn't get a truck, second person bought it for her grandson who is getting married and has nothing. No one has claimed the dresser and nightstand, though.

Here is the chest. The drawers are deep enough that I am able to combine three drawer-fulls into one, taking my stuff from the triple dresser to this chest. It comes up to just higher than my shoulder, but of course, it sits off the floor.
