The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Wonderful! I'm glad you didn't have hip pain. Maybe it will help Tom too.

I hope so. I hate spending so much $$, but no one is giving them away and it was probably the least expensive one I've found, felt pretty good last night. At least the mattress set that left here will help a young couple start out without that huge expenditure.

Oh, wanna hear something funny and rather sad at the same time? My faithless DIL's new amour may be a teenage boy, LOL. My son has a friend in England who saw a photo of the guy and said, "you see that shirt? That's a high school graduation shirt that says 2014. Here in England, we graduate at 15". O. M. G. The "daughter" may be his little sister! He apparently told my son's soon-to-be ex that his mother lives in some mansion, which sounds like something a teenager would brag to someone, and my son got the address. It's a duplex in London. Also, I not sure how he knows, but the guy lives with his mother. Yikes!

Something else weird-she is flying into Liverpool, not London for some unknown reason. That's a couple hundred miles away from where he supposedly lives. She's being played by some teenager, I bet, and being a game for him and his buddies. Her racy photos are probably being viewed by a bunch of teen boys. Sounds like they're lying to each other and she's going to be the one on the short end of the stick, rather apropos, I'd say.

Second thing-I kept saying he needs to hide Ghost, the dog she wants to take overseas. She has all the paperwork and stuff needed. Well, my son found out where she keeps it. He said when she takes her shower the morning she is flying out, he'll take the pet passport and paperwork and just go off to work. She'll have to decide to go without the dog if he pulls that off.

What I hope is when she gets there and realizes she's been scammed, she won't call my son crying how she's made a mistake, blah, blah, blah. I hope he'll change his phone number and not give it to anyone she would be likely to call to ask for it. Better yet, sell the house and move!

Her best friend called my son today. She said, "What's happened to Shea? She's not the same person I know". Odd, that. She's doing exactly what I thought she'd do 19 years ago. I just didn't think she'd waste so much of my son's life before she did it.

***adding that maybe he should actually take the dogs, not just the passport papers, and leave that day. She may fly into a rage and let them out into the street. He'd say she'd never do that, but this is a deranged person we're dealing with now.

Remember when I said that the other person could be lying? I had a feeling. She's so nutso about music groups, maybe he's convinced her to meet him there for a concert, or something. Sounds like the kid is not going to do his dirty work in his own back yard.

I sure hope he pulls it off with the paperwork, and gets to keep the dog. Has he considered how he's going to react when she calls him crying about how she was scammed, or wanting to come back? Tell him, he does not have to send her money for her to get back. She can go to the American Embassy there.

His dad asked him last night if she called crying for help, do her parents have the money to get her back home. He said they do, if they would. They're pretty ticked at her themselves. He'd better not even think of putting a plane ticket on a credit card to get her lying butt back here. He is really angry right now, saying his hate is the only thing keeping him going, which is sad. My answer to his FB statement, calling her something I can't write here, was:

You do what you can for Ghost and what is right is for him, and for Sophie, to stay with Sophie. Then, you let that nasty, unworthy person go on to whatever awaits her and you go onward and upward. Start living again. You haven't been for some time now. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, always is! It *will* get better, just a little more traveling through the tunnel, keep walking...love you, son. ~Mom

If I can get him thinking about a more pleasant life without her, see the possibilities in his future without all the baggage, maybe he'll calm down, do what he has to in order to keep his dogs safe and with him, and move forward, leaving no space for her to return to, no matter what she says or does.

On a more pleasant note, another night on the mattress and zero hip pain. I tossed and turned some only because my brain would not shut off, too much on my mind, but it was definitely not because of the mattress! That is very comfy, just a really different feel from all the innersprings we've had. Now, if it only lasts at least 8 years for us. I can't buy new ones every 4-5 years!

What kind of mattress did you get? I missed that part. I've searched but can't find it. I've been having sleep problems because of pain and thinking about mattresses.

It's a memory foam mattress. It was a closeout from the old Englander company the furniture store has, but the new company honors the warranty, it's Sutherland, or something like that. I was leery of memory foam, but so far, I have not been hot at all, though here in the mountains, our nights cool down considerably from day temps and the window is right behind the headboard.

Southerland mattress. Is it the Signature Collection, AmeriGel Collection, or the Standard Collection? I'd like to know, so I can replace mine.
I have no idea. This still has the Englander name on it. It doesn't have any cooling gel, I didn't think, may be wrong. Let me check that.

Cheryl, my invoice says "Durham" so I looked it up and it says there is gel in it.
