The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

I generally get so many eggs I can pick and choose. The rest get fed back to my birds. I forget everyone isn't overrun with eggs like I am. :)

Yeah, no egg surplus here now so every one is precious!

What sweet faces they have.

They're all sweet....except the Terrorist Attack Hen. Even she can be sweet if she gets what she wants. Gypsy and Panda are the best old girls. I wish I still had their half-sister, Riley. I loved her blue barred feathers.

I received the loveliest gift today in the mail! As a fellow YouTube creator and homesteader/prepper, I "met" Jaime and Jeremy of Guildbrook Farm as they began their channel and started into their new homesteading lifestyle. I think one of the very first videos I watched was about when Jaime was vacationing in Nepal and a devastating earthquake hit there, stranding her in a foreign country. So, Jaime and Jeremy have become online friends. We comment on each others' videos and last winter as they moved to their off-grid land, plus just recently as the season began to turn cold, I crocheted a few things like fingerless gloves, cowls, hats, etc, and sent them over, to keep them warm in their 'camp' over winter.

Over the past few years, they have been acquiring many new skills, one of Jaime's being to create beautiful animal portraits. I've been admiring her increasing skill and she has even started a new business from it, Guildbrook Art. This stunning hand drawn and framed portrait now sits on my desk next to my keyboard, a tribute to my Bash created especially for me as a thank-you gift. Isn't it wonderful?

Morning, all. My son came to eat with us yesterday. Had a lot of stuff we grew ourselves, plus he was gaga over his dad's dressing he hadn't had in 20 years because of you-know-who, who apparently now has only $69 in her bank account. That means that she spent about $12K in just about a month's time. You see what my son was up against. If all goes well, the divorce will be final in a week.
I have my big quilt I just completed sold. Made another tote bag so I'm going to give one to each of my sisters-in-law, who have been more sisters to me than my own ever was.

I think they will love them. Here in the calif we have to buy a bag every time we shop. It is ridiculous. Nice bags like that are so easy to grab for shopping or whatever. Very nice.

I am so glad your son came and visited. I love dressing. Does he have a special recipe? Maybe he will find some salt of the earth gal. You really don’t appreciate your parents until you are a parent. At least that was how it was for me. Today is my daughters 33 rd bday. She is a way better mother than I ever was. I am so thankful for her.

He grew up making dressing, southern-style, no actual recipe. Half biscuits and half cornbread, chopped hardboiled eggs, plus turkey broth and a bunch of seasoning, especially lots of sage.

That's the cutest little painting ever. :thumbsup That how I always think mine will turn out but they don't. I gave up art a few years ago and so far haven't gone back.
