The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Beautiful dog. Your son is looking much better than he did, too. The changes he's made in his life have done him a world of good.

Yes, they have. An interesting note: his ex has not posted anything on her Facebook since May 28, or hasn't posted anything that anyone other than friends can see. She was posting pics from around the area she's living in during the last few months, but nothing since May 28. I have not mentioned that to him, maybe he knows or maybe he doesn't, but makes me wonder if FairyTale Land is falling apart. The only reason I check is for early warning that she's on her way back.

Look what I caught on the pasture cam last evening about dusk, the fawn I almost stepped on July 2. I think it must be the same one, only a few yards uphill from where that happened and inside the perimeter. This is the only fawn I've ever seen this young inside the perimeter fence, ever. AND, Goober strikes again!

In other news, my son called yesterday to talk about the franchise offer his restaurant owner made him. The man really wants this business to go to Michael and he's make him an offer that I cannot see a real downside to at first glance. NO upfront buy-in cost, period. He takes 5% of the profits, and all else belongs to Michael for 2 years, then it is his restaurant free and clear. It's already established, he has his crew and 20 years experience in restaurant management. He has zero retirement so this could be his retirement. He needs an attorney to look this over and guide him, but this could be great for him. It's 5 minutes from his house, too.

Also, I asked if he'd heard anything from his ex. He said he had not. He unfriended all her family, to try to keep his sanity, but he said he saw that she had re-connected with her parents and "brother" (really, her son) and was trying to get back with old friends. Also, he said he saw something where she said she was coming back to Atlanta, that being in her mid-20's (cough, cough, CHOKE), she had plenty of time to start over. No, my sick twisted ex-DIL, you are close to Social Security, you liar. GAWD. But, we asked if he actually did change all the house locks, etc. He said they had all been changed, plus the garage door is always locked from the inside and the dogs stay in the house when he's at work, not in the privacy fenced backyard. When I saw she had not posted anything gushy or any more sightseeing stuff for over a month, I had a feeling she would be making her way back. Didn't I call this one??

Hopefully, he's over her enough that it won't matter.
He sounds like he is to me. I hope that's not just bravado in his voice, but he has supportive friends who've watched him suffer and grieve and begin to get his mojo back and I'm sure they'll keep him on the right track as much as they can.

My fiber optic cable was struck by lightning day before yesterday and I was w/o TV, landline or internet for 24 hours so sorry I was late answering.

Sorry about your cable getting hit. I went through similar when one of the neighbors accidentally cut ours. Fortunately, I have enough movies downloaded onto my computer, and it's hooked into the big tv in the living room, so we did have some tv viewing options. My tablet works on wifi, but also on my cell phone's 5G, so I was able to get online some too.

The restaurant deal he's being offered sounds like one of those once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. I hope it's as good as it sounds, and it all works out for him. I know there can be some seriously good money in the restaurant business if managed well.

He has 20 years+ until SS kicks in so he has a lot of time to build it up further, then if he wants, he could sell the entire business or re-franchise it himself. It's already a success. He asked the owner, "Why me?" He said he wanted to reward him for his loyalty and dedication to the restaurant, he had faith in him.
