I remember as a kid living in a suburb of Atlanta sitting on the curb just after dark and watching the bats swooping around eating bugs by the streetlights. They do good work, but they do poop all over my deck.

Bat guano (poop) is very rich, and great for plants. Years ago, bat guano was imported on ships, by the fertilizer companies. Water would get into the holds of the ships, and the crates containing the bat guano would stink. They would write S.H.I.T. on the crates with the bat guano, meaning Store Higher In Transit. By storing it higher up, it didn't stay in water, and didn't stink as bad. That's how we got the word shi........
I'm sorry, girls
I'm feeling blue after dispensing 13 young cockerels yesterday. I could not get any interest in them, even when offered with a pullet. They were nice young fellows, but were starting to eat too much and take up too much space. Winter is coming and I need to go to one coop/pen. That leaves me with 8 pullets and about 8 hens, along with my now 3 year old handsome rooster. They had a really good life, just very short![]()
I had to put my oldest dog down last week. She had cancer. I was spending all my time and energy caring for her for the past 2 months. It has broken my spirit. Thank you Cynthia for making me smile. I definitely needed that.
O. M. GOSH! I texted Mark Kephart and said why didn't you just ask if we wanted our land back? We're one of the offers on the table.
The answer:
"I didn't know it's yours. My son-in-law just told Levi to let you guys have it. He had a higher offer, but knew y'all lived there and wanted to return it to u."
Levi is the listing agent. Before I finished reading Mark's text, the phone rang and we got the notice that it's ours again!
