The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Oh, I remember that from Paul Harvey! Yes, it's a good one. When someone calls farmers stupid or says everyone should aspire to be more than a farmer (like one of our GA reps did, geez, how embarrassing), it really ticks me off, considering those people wouldn't know how to grow a tomato in a pot or feed themselves if they couldn't go out to eat.

Thought you'd get a kick out of my acquisitions from Dollar General today when I went to get a few things to add to our survival stash....yes, I will be putting up that sign between the house and road along the driveway somewhere, and probably the piggy on the top of the post for the driveway gate since the wooden one I had rotted and fell off eventually.

Tom astutely pointed out that the shape of the birdhouse was the same as a canned ham, LOL. I have not added a birdhouse around here in years, just felt like it.

We got offers in the mail yesterday to buy both of our extra lots for $8850 each. Though it's tempting to have a no expense closing (no closing fees or realtor fees, it says) and put over $17K back in our pockets, it would make zero sense to sell not only the bottom lot, but both that and our pasture lot for basically what we paid for them together over 16 years ago. Not sure why some guy from Roswell wants those lots. Roswell is an upscale area north of Atlanta. Surely he's a developer of some sort. Seems we got an offer from him a couple of years back for just the pasture lot when Mark still owned the bottom lot.

Tell them to shove it. Tell them you'd consider $40,000, or more for both, and not a penny less.
oldhens, when in doubt, prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

Agreed to both of the above! Though they wouldn't bring $40K, they'd def bring more than he's offering.
