The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

I haven't worn a mask yet. Have not left this place, but if I did, not sure I'd wear one. I don't actually have a mask, other than my stretchy headbands I could use as one, plus one that I found years ago in my baby book that people had to wear when they came to visit me after my mother brought me home over 63 years ago. Yes, it's in one piece, seems like muslin.
Seems the sickest kids were always the ones whose mothers insisted they douse themselves in hand sanitizer every time they went anywhere. Kids need dirt and germs to grow, right? There is too much information that doesn't add up at all for me so not sure I would wear a mask. I'd probably suffocate.
And yeah, no one , but NO ONE, had any paste tomatoes anywhere. I found enough sandwich/slicing types, but we don't need many of those. I need paste tomatoes to can sauce and other things like that. So, whatever I have of those, I grew from seed.

Cheryl I hope you're doing well. It feels good sometimes to postpone an appt since one's spends so much time with the Onc and treatment. I think it means a lot when you have friends who empathize with without saying "do this, it'll make you feel better" and so on. People like Cynthia and all who just ask how you are doing. Which is a good thing, I think.
So I hope you are doing well-as you can see it. :hugs

Good for you! I think I would only wear mine in Walmart, LOL. I'm a retired RN. which does not make me an expert. But sometimes it's better to just have more people wear a mask than worry about whether your mask will survive viral warfare. (I'm (not talking about anyone that has to wear one for employment. )And those people are considered angels in my book. Bless them all by God!M

Like you all I think, I think that fresh air is best no matter what. It allows for a dilution from a concentrate. No one would tall me to not go to the beach but don't swim, go to church , (this is an essential and the law can not take it way.), and many other ridiculous enforcement OR AA closing, or like that one that says fresh air at park and the beach will kill you. It won't.
I think we almost on BYC have read about Marek's which helps understanding viruses in general. Ya think?

What the Heck are paste tomatoes??

I ain't pulling nothing and replanting, too lazy for that! I've heard people say dig up bulbs and replant, but that seems like a ton of work I'm not willing to do. If it won't overwinter, it's just gonna have to be replanted the next year from seed. I grew them from seed fine last year. I was looking for my pictures of them and can't find them. May be that I just showed them in a video, but I was sure I took pics.

Sometimes things are not worth the time. :(

Cynthia how do you hatch so many more chicks and what do you do with all of them?
I haven't hatched chicks in three years, Karen, so I don't hatch that much. I have a lot of broodies, usually, though not so far this year (hope I don't!). I will most likely sell them all and give someone else a chance to have something other than hatchery stock. I don't generally have trouble selling my Brahma males here, thankfully. Most love a huge, sweet rooster. There is a North Georgia chicken swap group on FB that was supposed to be a sale group, but of course, they don't allow animal sales so everyone gets around that easily by not listing it as a sale, etc. I usually manage to sell mine there. My nephew wants chicks from me, but I won't let him have any unless he has a coop fully built and I can approve it because he has a dog. Even then, I'd hesitate. I don't like to know if they're slaughtered after they leave here because of someone's negligence.

What the Heck are paste tomatoes??
They generally have less liquid and/or seeds in them and are best for canning sauces, etc. Some varieties are Roma, San Marzano, Rio Grande, Amish Paste. I have all those planted in different stages. They are also less sweet.

Tom got the 2nd camera mounted today. So, I can do split screen or watch one of the other. If I don't turn off one of the cameras entirely, it toggles between the two repeatedly.
Here's the barn pen view and then, the split screen view. The picture is very clear, but the picture of the picture is not as clear as the actual monitor display, LOL

Looks good. Check the law in your county about admissibility for legal purposes. Here, law enforcement can use home surveillance as evidence, IF they are the ones to copy it off the recorder. If I make a copy of the recording, they can't prove it hasn't been tampered with, so it's not admissible in court, or for legal purposes. That being said, there is no problem with getting them to come make a copy of a recording capturing illegal activity.

Okay, the height of stupidity was perpetrated by my own bank today; at least I think it was the bank, could have been the grocery store, but I digress. My husband was met at the ATM that is attached to an Ingles grocery store by a sign saying that due to CV-19, no one could access this ATM, to go to the one in front of Home Depot (which is also in front of Walmart) or the one at the main bank down the street.
So, tell me....are there less germs on ATMs by HD and the main bank than the one at Ingles? And who *isn't* using hand sanitizer when they use an ATM now anyway? And why not just spray Lysol on the keypad periodically during the day for your customers? PLUS, what about the money itself? C'mon, people, really! That is so dumb! 🙄😬
