The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

The snark-fest in Breeds can do without this one. The rude folks who said the other was too long would say now I am talking too fast, LOL. Insert HUGE eye-roll here.
Here you go, Atlas people. A bit over 3 minutes, a slideshow with voice over (though the sound could be better in the beginning, no external mic)

That's the kind of stuff I'd like to learn about. I don't yet understand genetics in chickens beyond everything is either black based or red based. I think I understand a bit more about barring now Cynthia. :)

That stupid thing took me about 10 hours to make. I had to go back and search through hundreds and hundreds of pictures over several years, starting in 2011. I am editing-challenged. I want to learn my program, to talk and show pics in the upper right corner.

Anyway, I have to set up the brooder today, Day 19.

Morning Hatch Report: Today is Day 21, Official Hatch Day. There are 4 of each breed hatched so far, one Brahma still drying in the incubator and a few more Brahmas pipped, not sure about any other Barred Rocks. I hope that more Rocks hatch, but it is what it is. In an incubator situation, laying on their sides, they are bowled around by other chicks, unlike what happens as they hatch under a mama hen. But, no matter how it turns out, I will not be doing another incubator hatch this year.

It's not them being on their sides that is a problem, but them being rolled around like bowling balls I keep thinking must make them dizzy, LOL. I know on their sides is natural, which is why I never jumped on the incubating in a turner or an egg carton.
