DH went to get more cable for moving our satellite dishes out to the "back 40", completely forgot the cable, but came home with stew meat to raw-pack can and that's what he's doing now.

Haha, he went specifically for cable to Home Depot, next door to Walmart. Then he said he'd like to stop at Walmart to get some cola and wanted to know what else I wanted there. So, I made him a grocery list. Stupid me, should have written "SATELLITE CABLE" on it, right?

Things need to be on that list, size, shape, brand, or else you never know what you will get, in your case you got nothing. Sometimes I get one of everything, because he didn't know which one to pick. I've learned to smile and say thank you over the years. At least yours is canning his own meat, some husbands would expect the wife to do it.

He's a keeper, but it wasn't me who wanted the cable, it was him. He got most everything on the list, except my salad croutons. He looked on one of the end displays near the lettuce, but said other stuff was there. He never thought to look elsewhere, just where I got it the last time. Some stuff, the way the thoughts process, must be a male thing.

He reminds me of my Jimmy, he does the dishes - or at least MOST of the dishes, leaving the last few things in the dishwater in the sink

I mean no disrespect to any males, but I have found men and dogs think alike, and are easily distracted. I have a keeper too, but he still can drive me nuts, same as my dogs.

Oh, yes. I wouldn't trade my husband for anything, but he can sure drive me crazy doing some of those "man things".

Though he can make me nuts at times, wouldn't trade him for anyone else. Hard to find honest, loyal and hard working men these days, but I got one-had him since before I turned 19 years old. He says the chickens are mine, but when poor arthritic Snow calls for him, he goes to her and holds her, just what she wants. She snuggles under his chin and finally, silence. She can be rather insistent when she wants attention, but she really wants him, not me so much. He is attached to her more than any other chicken here, I think. And he worries over the cat when we can't find him and he is gone too long. Any man who loves animals has to be cut some slack in other areas, wouldn't you say?

Definitely, mine treats the dogs like they are our children. We never could mange human ones. Mine is practical and hard working, and will do anything for me. He also lets our small dogs sleep in our bed even though they push him out, and he plays hide and seek with them, and even takes them on rides around the block. The good ones can be hard to find, but easy to hold on to once you do find them.

My husband is that way too. Great with the cats, loves the chickens, works hard, indulges me, but at times, drives me nuts. The man HAS a cell phone, and knows how to use it, but does he? NO! I can send him to the store for something, and when he doesn't know size, brand, etc. he too, will bring home several of that item. For the life of me, I can't figure out why he didn't just call me.

The other thing he does...if he's out and about, gets hungry, and decides to grab something to eat, he can't just get for himself, or CALL me to ask what I'd like. Instead, he brings home way too much food, most of which I don't really like, because he's not sure what I might want to eat. All the money we pay for "smart phones", and he won't use it to call me to ask about things like that. It's exasperating, but I keep in mind that there are a lot worse things than that, and overall, he's a keeper.
