The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Cyn I am sorry to hear of all your losses. It's never easy losing losing livestock especially when they are more like pets :hugs

Thank you, Isaiah. I do have some more positive news, though. Rowena's abdomen is going down! It's not tight like a drum and has definitely shrunk quite a bit. Maybe we caught an early infection and gave it a good one-two punch.

My BIL died about 1:30 a.m. And coming back from the hospice yesterday, my Rogue's transmission went out right in front of the dealership where we bought it. I had to drive an hour to get Tom so he could leave it with them. I'm a zombie today. It has a warranty on the inner workings of the trans, but probably this is something external and will cost a mint. I may trade for a truck I wanted in the first place. It has one of those CVT trans and they are sometimes hinky.

:hugs what a night. Condolences to Tom.
Thank you, Mary. His oldest younger sister is on a cruise and won't be back until the weekend. The younger sister told her that if their brother died while she was gone, he'd be cremated and buried by the time she got back. They're going to cremate him immediately and have a service next Sunday. She knew when she left this could happen, though, and was there for him while he was alive, more than most sisters would have been. I just hate that the other sister is having do deal with all this alone this week. He was only 62, should have had another 20 years on this earth.

Thanks, all. Oh, the dealership called. They got word from the warranty folks at Nissan. The trans is shot so they replacing it entirely....our cost? $100. Yippeeeee! That CVT transmission is still not working the way Nissan hoped it would and Lexus and all sorts of high end vehicles have it in them now. I love the feel of the Rogue, handles very nicely, good seats, etc, but if the trans is going to be an issue again, I'll go ahead and look for that truck. Would like to find a Toyota Tacoma ext. cab 4x4, but not easy to find.

Thanks, Cheryl. Hope you're feeling okay these days.

Since the Brahmas are now gone from the older chick group, I tried to snap a few pics of them today. I'm pretty sure who belongs to who now. Amazing how you can tell one line from another. The STukels tend to be leggier than the Hector side, for one thing. With Drea's barring and height, she can only be a Stukel daughter.
