The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

The high today is going to be 84, while the low will be 61 tonight. The temps will climb throughout the day, so it'll hit 84 probably around 3 pm. It's so nice out. Go ahead and mock me for living in Florida, as you keep shoveling, and freezing your butts off. :p:gig

Mock, mock, mock, mock, mockmockmockmock! 84* is too hot for me! I have the best of both worlds in the mountains here. Not much snow, only a few single digit nights, if that, in winter, lower humidity, night temps in summer fall noticeably from daytime temps to give us a breather, HA! You can keep your too-hot, too-sticky flatlands, Miss Cheryl! :p

We ended up with about a foot of snow. It's sunny and some melting is going on, but it's gonna stay cold enough I think it's here for a bit before it melts. I wouldn't want 84 degrees either though.

To be honest, you get used to the heat until it hits the 90's. The car, house, all stores, etc. are air conditioned, so it's not that bad. Oh, then there's the pool too. Dh does chores for a bit, jumps in, cools off, then goes back to do more chores. It's still a bit cold for the pool yet. It won't be much longer though.

Lisa, I love your farm. I hope you post more photos in the future. It's what I'd love if I was much younger.
I will when it's not so depressing with all the snow. I used to be an avid gardener before I got crippled up. I still manage to get some stuff going but nothing like what I was.

I love our place, it's off the road, on 40 acres, with three main building. We have done a lot of work since moving here. It was a junk pile, literally, there was junk, and garbage everywhere, even now I dig a hole I find garbage every time. The place was surrounded by weeds over my head and the buildings were falling apart. We have worked hard to make it a nice place. The up side was got it for a low price.

Here's my house, I don't think I ever shared it. This is the view of it when standing at the red barn.

The view from my chicken shed.

I miss green grass.

Lisa, it's beautiful and peaceful...but, put it further south, LOL. I love a true farm. Reminds me of my grandfather's farm, though his buildings were not nearly as nice as yours.

Cheryl, I have not been in a pool since I was 16 years old. I hate swimming in a pool, to tell the truth. I don't own a suit, haven't since I was a teenager. It's no fun to swim when you can't see and you can't wear glasses or contacts in the pool anyway, even if I wanted to get in one.

Thank you. I don't mind the climate, I can handle the cold more than the heat, so I guess I'm a good fit here. That and I love cheese.

I haven't been in a pool since high school either. Public pools are gross, and having a pool around here isn't practical.

Love the farm too!

So...how many birds do I have? The numbers range at any given time from 5 (the least I've had at a time) to 16 or so. I'm currently down to 5 with an expected additional 12 coming in June. (Had to put it off later due to travel plans. I don't like leaving young'uns with someone else.)
What kind are you getting?
