The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

I like Pepcid AC, about 15 - 60 mins. before I eat, then Mylanta about 30 - 60 mins. after I eat. Once it's under control, I can usually cut back to Pepcid once a day, and Mylanta after supper.

I don't take anything unless I need it on the spot. If I avoid what causes it, i.e., carbonated drinks (no more than one per day) and baked goods, especially sugary ones, I rarely need anything. Mylanta is good for nighttime heartburn, true.

I don't like taking daily stuff, but I already have enough of that with the synthroid and topamax I have to take. I really hate taking daily medication. Daily vitamins and supplements like my Neocell collagen are fine, but meds I shy away from. I have visions of my MIL with a suitcase of pills. She took so many and shopped doctors and even in the hospital, she'd take meds from her purse while they were trying to treat her for something. She loved meds, the more the better. I think they eventually gave her brain damage and helped lead to her early death, though she did have kidney disease, but I think all the interacting medications made it worse.

What? You post that photo and no recipe?

A friend on FB always shows recipes and I have fussed at her for that, bad girl. Well, this one is a special weakness of mine, have made them plenty of times in past years, but I rarely ever eat baked goods, especially sugary ones, because acid reflux kicks in big-time. But, I will suffer for the taste of these lemon bars! I made Tom make them so I could blame him, too. They taste just like lemon meringue pie, very similar to the recipe I used in the past. Where's that recipe? I have been craving lemon bars for years but haven't made them. That looks delicious.

Oops, I see the recipe, thank you so much.

It's to die for! You'll love it. I love lemon in summer, so refreshing. Mayfield one year had a lemon meringue pie ice cream. It never came back. It was so light, had fewer calories naturally, though it was not a reduced calorie ice cream, per se.
:drool Being a type one diabetic I haven't indulged in too many deserts in my life. Lemon anything is definitely a weakness for me. I wanted lemon squares for my birthday last year but didn't make them. This year I probably will now.
