The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

6 Dominiques (breeder)
3 Americaunas (ee - hatchery)
3 Buff O's (hatchery...hoping for broody)
And...Possibly
3 Black Silver Laced Orpingtons ( breeder...These are still in the works...)

Should know today on the laced. These are coming from 3 different sources :)
That's a nice mix. Should be a great flock. I certainly want to see those silver laced Orpingtons if you get some. All those breeder birds will probably be broody ones.

Most all my breeder birds have been broody types except for the Ameraucanas and Delawares.

My husband has found information that apparently, no one ever knew. My mother, June's mother was Olga Madill. He finally located her mother, Alice Maretta Itter Madill. So, my great grandmother Maretta had a brother, we just found out, named Julian Edward Itter, a fairly famous artist.

We also found out that my grandmother had a younger brother named Fred and she married at 19 a guy named Henry Healey Baker. No one ever knew she had a previous husband to Wixsom. They were legally married for ten years before she married Robert Wixsom, June's father. We are still searching for a child they might have had in that time frame. Even June's closest friends never knew she had any uncles or any other relatives on either side. This is better than any soap, I tell ya! I've been naming my chickens after relatives I didn't even know I had. Found a Canadian 4th cousin who is trying to help us out. She is on Olga's side of the family. There is even a Nelda! I had a Speckled Sussex named Nelda years ago. My grandfather, Bob Wixsom's mother was Ida Launt and had several brothers and sisters. No one knew that, either. Guess no one cared to find out.
