No, that's Dottie's daughter, Druscilla, the only one I got out of the original Rex. She looks a lot like her mother. The hen in the middle of the next photo down from that one is Atlas's mother, Ida.
I may give Atlas a big plate of grits and eggs or some other treat for his birthday. He deserves it!

I think the same things I saw earlier are the same things I see now: slightly too short back, tail angle just a tad too high, chest could be more rounded, wing carriage needs to tuck up a teensy bit. Of course, his barring isn't what the pure Stukels are, but that is what I expected. I'm still amazed he came out of a single barred male looking this good, though.

He has so many good traits and I feel they win out over his other flaws. His overall size is great, lots of breadth between the legs, beautiful carriage, bearing and comb. And of course, to me, his temperament is the winner of all his traits, hands down. He is a prime example, yet again, of a rooster who can keep the hens fertile, do protection duties properly and still know who is ultimately in charge so he is easygoing and friendly with DH and me. Every time I hear people say, "My rooster flogs me every time I go in the pen and I have to carry a broom with me, but he watches out for the girls", I want to say, "So what? Get rid of him". Nasty tempered males have a one way ticket out of here. They may go through the boundary testing stages as pre breeding age youngsters and that's fine but well-bred temperament should win out over that if it's in there.

Did you notice he's getting a respectable set of spurs on him? Finn better watch out!

I agree with everything you said about Atlas. Perfection is overrated - he is lovely in addition to his looks.
