The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

His ear tips are so sweet looking! I'm not partial to Huskies only due to an awful experience with my Aunt's, but I will say, my experience was completely different from that of those who were with that animal every day. Her loyalty was unquestionable.

My son says he was around a 1 yr old child and a cat in his former home, but as we all know, Huskies in general are notorious chicken-killers. I'm sure there are exceptions, of course, but I hope he doesn't ever bring him to my place. Naturally, he'd have to come up here to bring the dog and that's not likely anytime soon. I realize he was trying to save the poor dog from the pound, but he and his wife are gone so much, it seems not a good time to get a dog, though surely he would be protection for her, or at least a deterrent to burglary/assault. Seems to me that all the victims of home invasions are missing one element, a big dog in the house. That is one thing I miss since our last dog passed away, the visual deterrent, as well as the sound of a big dog. Kes was a marshmallow, but when she did bark on rare occasion, the ground shook. No one knows how sweet she was and if they heard that, they'd think twice about coming inside.

I decided to put it on video, but my memory card quit at the end of #9, LOL. Thankfully, #10 is in the description section of the YouTube.

But, who cares because.... CHICKEN VIDEOS!

And check this out. No vegetarian chickens here, either! (borrowed from a FB post).

Well on that first video thought 1 - look at that Brahma scoot! 2 - Hector the lurker ( what is that funny sideways head-shaking thing he does?) 3 - Just look at the big butts on those BR hens! And the leg feathers on some of those Brahmas! 4 Apollo wants him another Brahma

Very sensible and very well said.

Poor mouse! But a much quicker end than the cat would have given him.

Hector is a hot mess! I think his wattles were itching, LOL.
I agree, the BR pullets are so round! I really wish I could get on video Mary or Jill getting in Bruno's face when he goes after one of them. They are tough chicks!

Yeah, I've watched Finn play with a mouse or a shrew and finally just said, "FINN, kill the poor thing already!".

The buff in the last video was awesome. The really light colored brahma has a lot of feathers on her feet. Words of wisdom, very well spoken.
I think that must be Betsy. She has massive foot feathering. Actually, all the pullets have really great foot feathers except maybe B.J., the Dark Brahma gal. Hers are okay, just not as profuse as the others.
