Why wait for summer?!

Well, because, BRRRRRRR!!! It's hot chocolate and marshmallow time! Maybe if we have a warm spell, I can get a pint so I'm not tempted to eat the whole thing.

Oh, almost forgot to tell you guys! Remember when I told you awhile back that my husband said one day that little Xander's crow didn't sound good, like he couldn't get it out. Well, every time I heard him, he sounded perfectly fine. This morning, as I was waking up and hearing sounds from the barn over the baby monitor, I heard a sickly, very short crow, twice. And I thought, oh my, is that Xander?? Then, right afterward, I heard Xander. He crowed about thirty times, completely normal for him. And I know I have no youngsters trying out their voices for the first time, all others sounded like they should. I wonder if one of the pullets is trying to crow along with the roosters in the early morning! Either that, or Atlas is sickly. I don't recall hearing Atlas crow today, but he sounds a lot like Apollo at times anyway, so maybe he did. If that was him, he's not long for this world. if it wasn't, one of the ten pullets is doing a decent rooster imitation, LOL.

Aw poor Atlas. Hope that big boy feels better. My friend had two barred rocks try and crow and she said within a couple weeks of them doing that they died.
I don't think it was Atlas; I sure hope not! I'd rather it be a crowing pullet. The big guy is a sweetie. I picked him up today and hugged him. Those evil wenches are picking at his comb because they're stuck inside and bored.
