Thanks, Michelle. It's part of having an aging hen population. I have never lost any to predators, at least not yet, but they tend to live up into their old lady issues. Gypsy is older than June but seems okay other than a stiff hock joint. Snow has lost the use of one leg to arthritis just like 10 yr old Amanda. And Panda is also 9 years old now, with Georgie at 8 yrs right behind them. Georgie seems spry, though, for her age. She has been taking over a lot of June's head hen duties for months, we've noticed, so she's already in position, large and in charge. So sorry to hear June is not doing well, Cyn.![]()
Yes, it was very hard, but he'll be happier. No Hector or Atlas to torment him and lots of women! The calf is adorable.
I know it's hard for you to part with Apollo, but I'm sure he'll settle in nicely, especially with his own harem.
congrats to your new cow-moms. Yes, I do love them, especially the boys for some bizarre reason.Cyn she is super happy!
Ah Cyn I know how much you love these birds. Its hard to see them go even when it is to a good home![]()
