The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

I just subscribed to your YouTube because I've been meaning to for a while. Saw her comment on that video. You did not sound judgmental, she just sounded defensive. People get so offended by everything these days, even the truth.

She probably smokes herself :tongue

You hit on a truth here. Of course, I have no idea if she does or doesn't, but usually, the ones who protest the loudest got their little sacred cow stepped on, or their addiction spoken of in a negative way. I know how that works, they say you're being mean and judgemental (which implies sin and that is NOT what I did at all) when all you do is love them and want them to live longer and healthier. I see a cliff and someone I love is walking doggedly toward it and I'm saying, hey, there is a killer drop-off ahead, please stop! That is love, not judgement.

Everyone can do what they want on their own property or wherever, it's their choice, but this property is OUR sanctuary. I get to decide what happens here and what doesn't here. And I can't watch someone light up on my deck and bring up all those memories of the black tar gunk they were suctioning out of my MIL's lungs as they were trying to save her life. She was only a couple of years older than I am now when she died. My BIL who just passed away was about the same age as his mother when he died. My SIL's husband is my age and just had a heart attack. I like him. I want him to be around to watch his first grandson grow up (2 yrs old).

Thank you, I appreciate that! I noticed I got a couple of new subscribers just after she said that my bad attitude was why I have so few, LOL. Good grief, folks love to find stuff to be offended by, don't they?

I totally understand your point, and I see nothing wrong with how you said it. Perhaps she hasn't seen people dying because of it. Don't waste your energy on negative energy, all you get is tired.

Sorry about your tooth. I went to the dentist on Tuesday for a cleaning and ended up with a filling. My mouth is still sore, I don't like going to the dentist one bit. Hopefully you feel better.

I almost missed your post! I am certainly not trying to preach at folks or offend them, and least of all, I'd hate that you would ever think badly of me, being a reformed smoker yourself. I hope you will be with us for a long, long time and that quitting has added quality and years to your life. That's all I want for my family and friends. It has nothing to do with "sin", not at all. Of course, there are other factors in our world now that affect the lungs and heart, but add tobacco to those, and a person is really flirting with death, I feel. I think the same of chewing tobacco, blech. Tom's maternal grandmother and my own used snuff. Gross! But that adds another awful aspect to it, if you've seen people with mouth or throat cancer, it's devastating.

My mouth is good. Popsicles and hydrocodone tonight! LOL. I already have an older bridge coming from one direction and then this new "blank space". I have to have that bridge removed and a new 4 piece one put in so a new crown on a tooth that has never even had a cavity to be the new anchor on the other side of this extracted tooth. $$$$$$$$$. Today cost me $300 because I had to go to an oral surgeon. Then, I have to do the bridge, another $2100, but without insurance, it would be $6200 or so, so I'm okay with that. The worst thing is I have to drive all the way to the other side of Atlanta to get go to my own dentist because of my insurance plan, which is very cost effective and covers quite a bit, so I keep it. And I put Tom on it, too. He needs 3 crowns only because he has those broken teeth, but it's not a time-critical thing with him.

You are "stuck" with me now. :frow

Yikes, teeth are expensive whether fake or real aren't they.

To the first statement, I'm very happy to be "stuck" with you! In this world, nice people seem to be at a premium and we need to stick close to the ones we have. So, you're stuck, too!

To the second, you betcha they're expensive! It's insane how much they cost, but not much to do about it. Thankfully, I found this dental insurance program and other than having to drive a ways, it seems to be a good one. The oral surgeon, a guy who is up in years, just called me a little bit ago to check on me-not his staff, but the guy himself. I was impressed. They usually have the staff call, if they do at all.

I subscribed to your youtube channel. I had to jump through a few hoops to do so. 1. Log in with your Google account. Huh? I have one. It was required for my phone, but I never use it. Went to find phone. Ok, where are they hiding the Google stuff? Found it. Checking under account information, nope not there. I finally checked the Playstore (for those handy dandy apps, that I don't download), and found my account name. 2. Password? 5 tries later, viola, I got in. 3. Hmmmm, Google doesn't recognize this device (computer), so it's sending a confirmation to my phone. Do I want to allow this unrecognized device to have access to my Google account? Yes. My identity had been confirmed, and they will add the new device. Since I'm here, would I like to download an app, or 20. No. 4. Yay, I am logged in. 5. I wrote down all the account information stuff, so I don't have to go through all that again.

Hope your mouth is feeling better.

Oh, my goodness! Thank you for going to all that trouble! I was wondering if that comment was you! Thank you, I appreciate it so much. I had a feeling it was my Atlas thread pal.

Yes, my mouth is very sore, but not hydrocodone-sore today. I just took some Naproxen this a.m. All that pushing and digging, not the mention the multiple needle sticks to administer the novocaine, left the jaw and gum very sore. But, I'm good, thanks! He did not have to cut the gum, which would have required stitches and antibiotics.

I moved the three 12 week old BR chicks back into the barn pen and put Lizzie and her three chicks in the little coop. All that cheeping might put another broody in play, plus Bonnie still won't break up! Those older kids are close to being ready to to live with Georgie's group until MaryJo can be with Hector and maybe I'll sell Drew and Mini-Hector soon (pleasepleaseplease).

Yeah, it was me, the brat. Hehehe. It was totally worth it too.

I totally understand about the mouth pain. Remember, I just had 2 teeth pulled. Don't worry, it gets better each day, and in a few days, it will be fine.
