The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Well, my husband walked out the kitchen door and I hear him say, "Look who's back." This is who is back, slithering around our deck. Tom got a metal pole, pancaked the snake behind his head so he couldn't strike and picked him up to relocate him somewhere away from the house. Good grief.

I like winter for no mosquitoes or scorpions! When you live in the woods, those critters are your neighbors. Tom said he took the snake to the compost pile. Say what? Why? I have to pick squash there! I thought he'd take it across the power line easement like he usually does. I guess he thought it would find mice out there better. But I think it was hanging around because that nest is still up on my deck roof header. Maybe I need to push it off.

I want to replace our bathtub/surround. It is original to the house, almond colored and has a small chip in it now. I want a tub that is larger in width (this one is super skinny)and a tile surround, which would mean replacing the bathroom flooring again, probably. This is the tub I sort of like, fits in the same space, but has a curve to the main body so it's much wider.
These were customer photos in the reviews of the tub. There is a curved door that is made for it, but the special door costs about $400 while the tub itself only costs $249. I think a curtain would be fine. I know these don't hold heat as well as cast iron tubs, but those are not all that popular now and are limited in choices.

Have you checked out one of those Kohler walk-in tubs? I've seen the commercials, and figured I'd investigate them more thoroughly when/if we ever remodel our bathroom.
Yes, but they are several thousand bucks, plus I don't like having to drain a tub just to get out of it.

No, it's real! We checked it out. That's the stupidest name ever! Sounds like they've had some issues lately, too, so maybe they think a name change will give them a new lease on life. CitiMortgage sold us to them. I really want to pay off this mortgage. You realize that any mortgage company can call in their loans in full at any time, right? Doesn't matter if you've made every payment on time or what you owe, as part of their assets, they can call in the loans. That's always bothered me, especially with companies that have problems.
I was recently using those refi loan calculators to see about refinancing the balance for fewer years and no one wants to do it with our small balance, apparently. not sure if it's just the balance itself or the balance as opposed to the value of the property or what. I so do not want to write checks to Mr. Cooper!
You can refinance for a higher amount and write a check back to them for the amount you didn't need. Just check to make sure they will allow you to pay off the loan earlier without penalty. I've done this. Nitwits....thinkin they were goin to get lots of interest outta me, lol.
