The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

If they don't like you the way you are, then to H-e-double toothpicks to them :tongue

You've probably seen some of the slickly produced videos. Some days I feel bad when my clips don't come out nicely. Even Jaime of Guildbrook Farm who recommends my channel all the time has a really nice channel, but her husband was in video editing in the first place and has the equipment. Plus, it's their actual full time job now, their channel. I don't know that I'll ever monetize mine, but because she is boosting my channel, she's trying to give me the option after YouTube requires 1000 subscribers.

We have about 12" of snow since last night; expecting 6 more.

Hubby is supposed to be leaving to fly to Uganda tomorrow. They changed flights to leave out of Detroit instead of Chicago yesterday due to the expected snow. So they were going to drive to Detroit thinking that flights wouldn't be canceled from there. I wonder if they'll even be able to go.

You have more snow than we do currently. Drive carefully.

Well, Tom is not feeling at all well. He coughed until it sounded like he had pneumonia. I'm gonna Oxine that man! I was coughing like that, but I didn't do it for long and I am much better, just a minor coughing fit here and there. Men are not as strong in the face of this stuff, seems to me, unless they've been dosing themselves with all the virus-and-bacteria-fighting stuff before it hits them.
Rant Alert:
I'm sick of them saying "A woman died and she didn't get a flu shot". Tell me how many died who did get a flu shot! I know that statistic would not suit their agenda so we'll probably never hear that. I've never had a flu shot in my life. I heard some doctors saying they felt the flu shots served to spread it and if you get one, the next two flu seasons will be worse for you. And I watched an ER doctor and a nurse on separate YouTubes say they refused the flu shot even at the expense of their jobs, said there was no way they would get one with all the chemicals and additives/astringents/metals that are in the vaccines. The nurse also said she asked the board who called her in to push her into the flu vaccine what they would do if there was a mass exodus of employees that refused to get the shot. The higher ups said they'd thought about that, but they never saw it happen. Everyone lined up like sheep to get it rather than lose their jobs. This forced medication is just not right, IMO. The ER doc said he was around folks all day long with the flu and never contracted it so draw from that what you will. It's less than 10% effective. He said that if they say less than 20% effective, that really means not at all. NO ONE says try to boost your immune system. They say TAKE THE SHOT.
Rant Over.

I have been getting the flu shot since 2014, haven't had the flu since. Watched my husband get it 2 years in a row before I made him go get it too. I'm a convert now, though before chemo I would always refuse it. It thankfully is still a choice for most people. Total statistics on the effectiveness would help. I wonder how many people will choose to get one next year after this year's hysteria.

Hopefully Tom feels better soon. I always recommend drinking lots of green tea, or at least fluids of some sort. Lots of this year's illnesses seem to be ending up with pneumonia or bronchitis, so hopefully he improves, otherwise get dosing him, maybe worm him too?

My rant would be about statins and how they are pushing those now. Doctors no longer seem interested in educating people on proper diets and exercise to lower cholesterol. But it could be because no one listens and everyone prefers a pill. I personally believe that cholesterol is not a one number fits all situation.

I like rants. :)

I'm with you on the statins, too, as well as that slightly high cholesterol readings are not necessarily indicative of bad health. I take a very low dose one because my cholesterol is linked to my thyroid and I skip every other day most of the time. I know it's my thyroid because when I first was told my readings had shot upward, I begged the doctor to let me have six months to try to get it down with diet. I researched the right foods to eat and to avoid to lower it and six months later, it went down TWO measly points when it needed to go down 40-50. I never had high cholesterol before the thyroid malfunction. She said it was just my sucky genetics. So, I said the lowest dose she could give me is all I would take. I may nix that one, too, because now they are wanting to charge me for it when formerly, I got it free with home delivery. I can't go without the thyroid meds, but the other one, I hope to get off of entirely. But, doctors are so set on the party line about a lot of things, like the flu shot.

It's up to everyone if they take a flu shot, but I want that statistic! I want a comparison of flu deaths with those who took the shot this year and who did not. I bet anything that many of them, maybe even most of them, took the shot and died anyway.

Worming.....yep....that's the go-to on the chicken forum. And since you're on the chicken forum, I'd saying worming your husband is the "in" thing to do.

:gig

BAHAHAHAHA! Yes! You are so right! Or the bird limped and OMG, it has MAREKS! Good grief.
