.....adding that I'm going to duct tape Hector's big mouth one of these days. I guess I should take a video camera out there. He goes off at any little thing. If I say, "Hey, stop that!" to anyone in the barn, he goes off like a big fat alarm, and he won't quit unless I spray him with water or I go into the pen and literally put my arms around him to calm him down.

I was doing this when all the ruckus happened. Just need to add a border all around and the top is done.

That is crazy. I was hoping Atlas wasn't that mean. I know they are chickens and know nothing of being mean, but still, geez, she's still a female and potential mate, use your brain Atlas, not just your testosterone.

He's not usually like that, but apparently, his hormones are driving him. I had to put a saddle on Gloria Jean, who has a bare spot on her back. She was fussing and walking backward and falling over like she'd never worn one before (she has quite a bit) and Atlas tried to grab her to mate with her practically laying on her side. I cuffed him upside the head since I was standing there to see if the saddle needed adjusting, shoved him aside, and said, "What the heck is wrong with you today??" He rarely is the object of my ire, but he was in so much trouble today, with fighting Hector, hurting Wendy and trying to take advantage of a hen who could have been injured for all he knew. I've never seen him act like that all day long!

He would be tossed in solitary here. I have one young boy currently penned for rambunctious behaviors, but I'm also not hatching either. Thankfully most of my big boys are behaving themselves, for now.

Adding that Hector is mean to hens, too. He won't accept any new ones. And he was over at the little covered pen flirting with Maretta, who has her chicks over there, and I yelled at him, "I gave you a chance, you moron!" I wanted Maretta with Hector to get some barred EEs for a friend of mine. But, oh, Hector wasn't having it. He only wanted to flog her and I wasn't having her hurt.

Funny you mentioned that. I have an extra pen right now. I told him that he was about to find himself banished and alone.

He can sure bust a move, can't he? Too bad he's so darn humongous or he could be the main rooster over an entire laying flock. The flock would have to be Brahmas and Orps and nothing else. Well, maybe Jersey Giants would work, too. He's such a sweetie, you'd really love him, Lisa. Apparently, he also produces sons just like himself.
