The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Where do you list them for sale?

It's a group on Facebook called North Georgia Chicken Swap. There are quite a few of them. But you can't list it like an actual sale ad because FB doesn't allow animal sales. They allow groups that say they sell livestock, but they don't allow the sale of animals, which makes zero sense.

Awesome that you already have homes lined up for the chicks!

I did something crazy. For some reason I’ve been wanting a puppy for a while now. Because I obviously don’t have enough on my plate already lol. This is Allie, a Catahoula:

What a gorgeous pup. Catahoula are dominant strong dogs, hopefully you were up for a challenge? I personally want to get another Australian shepherd, another pushy breed. I actually do enjoy a challenge. Nice pup, how old? She looks tiny.

She’s a little over 6 weeks. I do think puppies should stay with their mom at least 8-10 weeks, but they were in a hurry to get them out of the house. :/ and she’s actually only half Catahoula, they weren’t sure who the Dad was, but based on how some of the puppies looked I’m guessing it was a black lab. All the females came out looking like this and all the males were black, only one male had a little of the mottled color on his chest. The owners have 2 adult female Catahoulas and said they do great with their family and kids (youngest kid is 4). I sat and played with them for a while and picked the one that was calmest. She’s remained calm all day, even with my kids not leaving her alone, and has met our other dog who did great with her while she tried to hide lol.

View attachment 1272326 She also has heterochromia like many Catahoula do, one is is brown and the other is half brown and half blue.
My one Aussie has 1 1/2 blue eyes. She sure is adorable. I think when they are removed too early they don't learn how to properly interact with other dogs, and they don't learn about bite inhibition, so be sure to yipe to stop any biting.

Yeah our other dog was 5 weeks old when we got him and he definitely didn’t learn enough about proper socializing and was way too rough with the little kids. Was a hyper, bitey pup right from the start. He’s mellowed way down with age (he’s almost 9 now), and I’m hoping having him will help with Allie’s developing social skills. Plus I know more now than I did then lol.
