The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Nope, never even seen one. Because we get commercials from other areas with our big satellite dish, I know what it is, but this area doesn't have them.

No, you can't get military discounts online because they can't look at the ID.

Get ready for a mini-rant here:
Not everyone gives a military discount, of course. TSC does not. We asked when we bought a driveway gate there years ago. My complaint is either do or don't, but don't try to make vets jump through hoops and don't put them on some list so you can track them. That makes us pretty darn jumpy. They're already implying that all vets are mentally unstable, a moronic statement. They have all vets on lists already in this gun control debacle. Not all vets have even been into combat. They are not just soldiers. My husband did bomb shelf life testing at Hill AFB. He soldered motherboards that you had to use a magnifier to see the connectors. He maintained telemetry equipment on the ARIA aircraft (has a big Snoopy nose for the antenna). He is only a danger if you attack him or me, our family, our livestock, our property, or try to take what's his. He is the most stable man I know, like most of our military. You can't send a bunch of mentally unstable men into battle with weapons, geez.
But, he served 5 years in the Air National Guard then 20 years active duty Air Force and could have been called into battle at any time, that's what they ALL sign up for, every one of them. He got hazardous duty pay at times for his job, if I recall. Testing bombs in the desert is no joke. He lost friends when a plane went down over Maryland in a training exercise, one he was supposed to go on, but didn't for some reason I can't recall. He deserves some respect. Either give it to him FREELY or shut up, but don't act like he needs to be on a tracking list.

I suspect the vets are being targeted, not so much because they are unstable, but because they all go through boot camp, and are taught to use weapons and some military tactics. This makes them more of a threat in the case of tyranny, than the average armed civilian. It's not about what the govt. says. It's about what it's trying to do. I agree, there should be no such lists.

I think it's a combination of both, actually. Neither reason is acceptable.

My new dryer arrived, and was installed early this morning. I just happened to have a load of clothes I washed, all ready to test out the dryer. Worked just fine.

My new dishwasher arrived this afternoon. They got it installed, and left. I put in a few dishes, and it wouldn't work right. I called Bosch, and confirmed I had done everything correctly. It was NOT user malfunction. I called the place we bought it. I was NOT happy. Later they called Dh, and told him to tell me to run it through the longest cycle, and keep doing it. He said something about it being like vapor lock, and only a little water was getting in. I did as told. The 3rd. time I ran it, it still wasn't working right during the wash cycle, then it drained, and began filling for the rinse. All of a sudden, it began filling like it was suppose to, and had been running like a scared rabbit every since. It's working really good now. I'm happy!

I think I'm heading for a new dryer too. Seems like there's something wrong with mine that they can't figure out. The last time they came out and "fixed" it, the first load of clothes came out smelling like smoke. Not trying that again.
