The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Will do, but let's see how it turns out. Ill consider the figure and let you know, Kara. You have only the one little girl, right? I didn't know what the baby was, but I think I saw one lone little princess in your picture, if I recall.

Yep, just my one little girl. :)

We don’t have many quilts at all. My daughter has one she got from her grandma last year, but no idea who made it. And I made a simple tied quilt as a teen. Then this one on our bed. My mother-in-law made it for my husband as a graduation gift 20 years ago. It’s hand quilted, and has a few spots that need repair.

That's a very nice sampler quilt, Kara! So you do have a quilt, but of course, it's been around awhile and all quilts eventually need some repair, even those assembled to perfection. What's your little girl's name, if I may ask?

Rachel. We’re actually at the ER with her right now, checking for a concussion after she fell off the couch. :(

Oh, no! Good grief, kids and chickens both like to get themselves into predicaments, don't they? I hope Rachel is okay. I love that name, was thinking about naming a daughter that myself way back when.

She does have a mild concussion, just have to keep an eye on her and not let her hit it again while she recovers. She is being super grumpy. I’m ready to demand a refund or redo on this year. It’s been one thing after another with illness and car repairs and stuff around the house breaking. We’re still recovering from a stomach bug and my oldest broke his wrist sledding Saturday. Really looking forward to a vacation with hubby next weekend (and baby too since he nurses). My mother-in-law is coming to watch the kids and we’re going to Moab Fri-Sun, all paid by my husband’s employer as a reward for their team’s work.

I second that, Kara.

In other frustrations today, we went to Lowe's, bought a couple of items. DH pulled out his retired Air Force ID for the usual 10% discount and they refused, said now, you must have a Lowe's card, one we DO NOT WANT, get on a list, to use it or no discount. We've bought a lot of appliances and carpet at Lowe's over the years and I'm so DONE with them! There is no reason for this other than to get on some list to keep track of what we buy, what veterans buy, and I'm not going to do it. Who knows if the list is for Lowe's or the government? There is no reason for this, none, that I can think of-a valid military ID is valid, period- and now, our business goes to Home Depot, which I've never preferred, but will if Lowe's is going to be this way with veterans. I will not get on lists! I won't do it, even if it costs me more money. Keep your stupid list and your discount, Lowes. Either you give it to vets or you don't, but we're not jumping through hoops for you or whoever mandated this new rule. In fact, they just lost a good customer today.

The reason they do that is to make money. They know a certain number of card holders will not pay off their bill in full each month, or will miss payments, which generates income for them. They want to capture that money instead of having it go to another credit card company.

I don't understand the connection in someone not paying bills and us not getting the usual military discount unless we get on some list. :idunno
