The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Babies moved out to the barn chick pen today. They had a Premier Heat Plate in their temporary first brood box. When I put them out there I had also added a heat pad brooder that is larger as they'll quickly out-grow the size of heat plate I have. They had never seen the pad brooder before but, interestingly, they chose the heat pad over their familiar Premier. I think it's more cushy. Here's a couple of photos.

The sod was a real hit (as usual). The little fellow in front to the left is a Dominique cockerel. 3 Buff O's and a EE Ameracauna on top of the sod.

I look and then replace. I do the same for the SAVA cam, but it has a view screen so I can preview the photos to see if I need to take it back to the house to download.
Thank you, for some reason I thought they would just magically appear on my computer. My friend was showing me what he caught on his stealth cam. So I just assumed.

h2o, depending on what you want to spend, and what your ultimate goal is, instead of a game cam, you might want to invest into a decent surveillance system. We started with the NVR, and 1 camera, then added cameras each month or two as money allowed. The 4k systems are fantastic, and if you check out Nelly's security, they have some excellent prices, tech support, and warranties. The distance the 4k's cover, and the clarity is amazing. We have a big screen tv for the security cameras in the living room, on the wall above the regular big screen tv. Dh and I can also view everything on our computers, tablets, and phones. Just a thought.

I agree with Cheryl on the security system rather than a game camera if you want it transmitted to your computer. I want one myself, but am having a hard time choosing one and figuring out how to use it. Now that we have fiber optic, it might actually work, though. Our former DSL system was awful, but some require you to scan a bar code on an iPhone, which I cannot do. I can't figure this one out. I tried on a camera I bought and my fake iphone would not scan the code so I couldn't get it to work so I sent it back. I probably can't afford it anyway, not the system I'd want. I'd love to have cameras facing the barn (both sides) and the pasture and our house, front and back sides. My friend in Ky has a neighbor with a large acreage and he had that entire place wired and can watch all parts of his property from work.
