The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

If you read her gushy, mushy somewhat pathetic/slightly disturbing (once you know the backstory) FB posts you'd see how it might be easier for him to recover. And as far as her "friends"/ enablers postings, well...:sick

It's pretty disgusting, no question. She still doesn't put the boy-toy fully on camera. There are only "slices" of him on any photo that has any of him at all. If someone is so in love and is happy with their guy, why would she hide him? Meanwhile, my son's coloring is so much healthier looking from his photos at the gym, his dark circles are gone, the pasty coloring is gone, his face is looking slimmer already, even though he needs to lose another 100#, and he's filling his time with something positive, not just sitting at home trying to spy on her.

Oh, forgot to say that one of the Brahmas started laying, Bailey. The others shouldn't be far behind her. Then, the broodies will start, sigh.
I did a video today, a rambling one that basically features Bash and his girls roaming around with me following them and just having a "gab sesh", as an acquaintance of mine calls it.

Oh that Bash is so handsome. What a nice mixed group of birds.
Thanks, he is a real joy, that guy. Hector can be, too, but he's so mean to his girls. Jane and Maddie pretty much avoid him and stay on the roost until he and Thea and Jill go to roost at bedtime, then the two younger sisters go down to eat and drink without being hassled. Bash is just good from start to finish, doesn't try to pick fights with the other roosters at their pens (Atlas is bad for that) and never causes any trouble at all.

I have to add that I'm still very fond of Hector. I just know him now and all his quirks. The way he runs up to me really fast and looks up at me would make someone think he was attacking, but it's his rooster version of a Lab with its tongue hanging out bouncing all over, glad to see you. He's such a goober, that one. I'd be shocked to the core if he ever did anything real. They all have such different personalities.

The one I don't understand is my Belgian D'Anver, Spike. I let the bantams run with Georgie's group sometimes. Aubrey ignores the entire group, but not Spike. Zara will even squat for Spike, but when he runs up to her, he flogs her in the back. He never makes any attempt to mate any of the big hens like Xander would have done. Stupid little thing herding the big hens reminds me of the Foghorn Leghorn little Chickenhawk character, strutting around with his chest all puffed out, acting 10x bigger than he is. I call him my second terrorist. Tiny is the first, Spike is the second.
