The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Yea! Someone saw my ad on a local agriculture site and came and picked up my 9 extra chicks. I'll be cleaning and disinfecting the coop and then they'll move in there. I'm really tired of the mess and smell on my porch. Can't wait to clean up the porch too.

I know the relief of a load of chicks being sold all at once!

Funny, she's the 2nd person i've met here who had been to this house as a kid. Her parents bought a cat here. The previous owner bred cats.

I think alot of people in this area have lived here all their lives , many with a generation or two.

My daughter has gone from rolling her eyes at her crazy chicken mom to having fun holding the older ones and commenting on their quirks. Then playing with the chicks for half an hour ! Hmmm, another chicken person in the making?

Curious - how old is your daughter?

Oh... and I'm near the South Bend area. I guess we're on opposite poles of the state :)

Well, I heard dogs barking close by this morning. DH already was in the barn. I went and asked him did he see dogs, that I heard some that sounded close by. His hearing is bad and he didn't hear them. My pasture cam download told the story....three dogs who've been here before were here at 9:30 a.m., when I had birds free ranging. Well, the pitbull hasn't been seen on camera that I recall but the other two have. Thea was at that spot two hours later, on this side of the fence.
