The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

I don't know about there, but here, if you have a video like that, you can call animal control, and they can issue a warning, or even issue a fine. Usually the first time, they issue a warning, and let him know that the next time, there will be a hefty fine. Here, the fine is $500.00. If it happens again, they will pick up the dog. Your neighbor will have to pay an even higher fine, if he wants to get it back. Your neighbor will either get tired of the fines, surrender the dog, or take measures to keep it on their own property.

Be aware, that while this proves the dog was on your property, it also proves that at the time this was taken, the dog is showing no aggression to you, or the animals.

In GA and in this county, it doesn't have to do anything except be here and be a perceived threat, according to the wording of the ordinance. I can shoot to prevent injury to livestock. If my birds had been out, it would have been a slaughter, I'm convinced. I'm not likely to go the sheriff route here. They're not that helpful. I may notify animal control to come get it if she gets in here again, if I think she's going to stick around. They can take it in or take it back down the hill. I've already warned Mark about dogs over the years and here we go again so he deserves nothing except for the dog to disappear. He says it's not his dog, but it's under his supervision so it's his responsibility as far as I'm concerned.
No, she did nothing except look a bit confused when she was near the house. Today, when she saw me walking toward the mailbox, she hightailed it like a rocket back to his house. I had to have my gate open again today for a guy to pick up a table and chairs he bought from me, but I didn't let anyone free range while it was open. Seems like I may have to keep them inside every time I open the gate (inside their respective pens, I mean, not inside the building).

So here we go again with dog problems. We have the driveway gate open today for a UPS delivery. A few minutes ago, we walked out onto the deck and my husband said, "There's a German Shepherd in our yard". Sure enough, the Shepherd from next door was standing near the SUV and came all the way to our steps, about 5' from where Bash and his hens had been dustbathing under the deck a couple of hours back and where Hector was most recently with his hens. I had let out another group, but made them stay inside the barn pen, thankfully. The dog ran down the driveway when I picked up a broom and we can't get anyone to answer next door (if that is even the same number Mark Wilson used to have). Someone is cutting the grass so Tom may have to drive down to talk to them.

Yep, need that fencing, but that doesn't change the fact that we have to open the gate for deliveries and dogs seem to have "gate radar".

I think about what I would do too since we're mostly surrounded by barb wire. But the free range area is fenced. If someone's dog was a nuisance , at strike three I would have my can of red spray paint and just cover the dog. They might get the message then, and you can have a good laugh.

Service dog for many people is a term used to get their dogs in where they don't belong. There are not nearly as many actual service dogs, and they are not only well trained, but not allowed to roam. I'm glad he called you though, that was quite thoughtful, and shows that he wants to get along.

Personally I don't think a "service dog" gets to run around and go running over unsupervised.

It was near 90 today with thick humidity. I had many things to do outside but stayed in and cleaned the bird cage.
How's everyone hanging in there with the isolation? It's not so different than my real life. I did break down and visit my daughter and family and maintained my 6 feet. It was mother's day and she wanted me to come over for a drink.
Anyone (except our Florida girl here, LOL) having nice warm weather? My garden is growing well. I actually started some weeping willow pieces with some growth hormone and grow some trees! My tomato seeds are not growing at all. So I'll have to go over to Walmart and get some plants.

Not thrilled with Amazon Pantry. Every box arrives with crushed items, barely even taped shut. They put packing materials on top, but not between the stuff. Looks like it came off the scratch-and-dent shelf. So far, Amazon Prime is not making me very happy. Shipping is not faster on most things now anyway.

I did order a big man's desk chair for Tom. He's killed two we got already, one from a furniture store and one from a thrift store, and I figured it was because of his latest weight gain. He's at the top weight for most of them so I bought one that says it holds 400 lbs +. He's nowhere near that, but if it's made for someone that large, I figured it should hold better and have more support. It arrived yesterday, was easy to put together, had extra bolts/screws in the package, adjustable arm rests, etc. Hopefully it will last. This one:

Try Jet.com for groceries like amazon pantry. Walmart can be good too.

Got in peas, carrots, parsnips and Cosmos. We are about 2 weeks from last Frost. finished the plastic on the greenhouse, so planting some squash and putting some dahlias tomorrow. Cleaned out the little coop (should have been done last fall).
Guess I did get something done. This is the first sunny day that we've had for 3 weeks, got all the way up to 61!
