I've seen a few big bellies over the past few weeks. Now, I have to watch out for fawns if I mow the grass or just walk around past my "front yard" area because this doe was in my front yard and in no hurry to leave. I thought she might have been in labor when she didn't immediately jump up and trot away. It's not good for my plants I want to keep, but at least the shrubs like my rhododendron always come back to life in the spring even if they're grazed down during the winter. Can't obsess over it, though. I do enjoy the deer's presence. Oddly enough, I have not seen any ticks yet. I didn't see any last year. Maybe because I eat almost zero carbs, they don't find me appealing to chomp on.
