They are here! 27 peepers! They are all settled into the brooder, now just to figure out what breeds I have. Would have been nice of them to include a list...

Guessing I have red stars, Australorps (and/or barred rocks and/or black stars?), buff orphingtons (or buff rocks), gold laced wyandottes. The mystery chick is obvious for once, it's a light brahma chick. . I will take a closer look and compare to pictures when DS goes down for a nap.

So I stopped by our RK and got 2 RIR pullets to add to our mix. Can't believe the size difference a little over a week makes. My BRs are huge compared to them lol.

Hi All!!

I just placed my order today with Dennis @ Country Hatchery in OK & I'm super excited!! The little ones are sheduled to ship March 6th.

This will be my first time raising chicks but my husband had chickens growing up so I'm hoping we'll pull this off. We've spent the last several weeks completing the coop so we don't have to rush to get anything done & just enjoy this experience.

I got kind of a mixed flock and tried to stick with breeds that were suggested to be more docile since this is my first go around - Here are my picks: Australorps, Buff Orpingtons, Easter Eggers, Light Brahmas & Barred Rocks.

I'm enjoying reading through all of the forums & getting such great ideas & info!!

4 days (possibly 5) in counting! My fist shipment is supposed to be shipped on Monday from Cackle! Second year raising chicks, but the first time getting them through the mail. I'm so anxious! Loving all the cute baby pictures!
