An update on my order that arrived this morning from Meyer Hatchery... Out of 19 chicks, 2 were DOA and 2 additional chicks died within a few hours. The rest seem to be healthy and active.

Thanks Poultrylubber. Some loss is to be expected, I guess. The others are still going strong this morning.

Thats good!! I had one that was not doing very well is doing fine now, she is running around drinking and eating and stealing food! Lol But I think she might be blind in one eye because it is always closed and I can wave my hand right next to it and she doesn't even flinch. I think she might have been pecked in the eye.
But now I am worried about another one, she can hardly walk so she lays around most of the time with the anther ones running over her. And her wings are a little deformed and I think her legs aren't positioned quite right on her body. But she breathes very heavily and her abdomin twitches a lot and when it does she starts chirping really loudly like she is in pain. So I put her in a cut out tissue box to keep the other ones from running over and pecking her.

Thanks I did not know how fast they grew!!! It is crazy how big they get in just two weeks!
