called Ideal about 12 minutes ago as i hadn't gotten an email yet saying the chicks had shipped and was very close to being 5pm(when ideal closes...or atleast their phone people leave) and the lady i got ahold of said yes they had been shipped an they should get here tomorrow or friday! cant wait to see them!! hope they all handle the trip from TX(were ideal is) to me here in KS ok...hopefully its not to hot or anything else like that while there in transit to me

That name would be perfect for my blue polish lol. I have a golden Campine in my aug order. I'm excited for the speckled Sussex ESP since it looked like it would be next year till I got one. I look everyday to see if someone canceled and a marans is available for my day.

Oooooo, choose a blue (grey looking ones) or a partridge (the brown ones with the dots and stripes on their faces). Those are my favorite silkie colors! When I was younger and living with my parents I would write them an essay on whatever I wanted and provide detailed information to convince them it was a good idea. I would quote multiple sources and include pictures. Sometimes I'm surprised how nerdy I was as a kid.

I ended up placing a order for 9/30 for golden cuckoo, cuckoo and blue splash marans. Glad I did too cause I got the last golden. I had to lie and tell my husband they sent me an email and gave me free shipping on my next order. And I had to promise no more chickens till we move. If he knew he spent over $240 on 4 orders he would prob kill me! Thank god he never looks at the credit card bills!

the chickies are here! and they're all doing very well! Ideal even sent an extra oegb so my friend will get 6 chicks instead of 5. and man did they arrive fast...they were just shipped out yesterday afternoon. so glad their all doing well. going to take pics soon promise.

When I got my chicks back in Febuary, I ordered 5 hens and 1 roo. They called me later to ask if I would give up 1 or 2 because they were short a couple. I explained that I was showing them so no. When I went to pick them up, there were 7 in the box and I assumed 1 was a mystery chick, but they all looked the same!! I guess somebody canceled their order because I now have 7 SLWs running free!

I will be a new chicken owner!
My chicks are due to arrive next week between Wednesday and Saturday. I ordered them from Mypetchicken.com.
I am expecting 5 Buff Orpingtons, 5 Plymouth Barred Rocks and 5 Easter Eggers. My coop should be done by the time they arrive and I will set up the brooding box in there. I am going to modify and use a large dog crate that my German Shepherd doesn't use anymore.
I bought the 'Daisy Coop' plan from cleancoops.com. My husband is an engineer and he is building it better than perfect

. No nails, every board is screwed n glued! We are going to put vinyl siding on it so that it matches our house. We live in a subdivision and I think a little 'curb appeal' will go a long way to keep the neighbors happy. We have the roof almost completely sheathed. Next is to install the windows and nest boxes. Shingle and siding and we should be done.




I can't wait - I think it will be a lot of fun!
