The EXTRA Litter - no puppies :(

Milton says his mom is ripe. We all had a rather sleepless night last night due to his inability to be QUIET. (whine whine whine).

We are off for another Progesterone test this morning. I expect she will show near 5 when results come in tomorrow morning, and we will be heading off to visit Vinnie.

Please keep good thoughts for a successful breeding, settling, and puppies!

Progesterone was 4.2 yesterday!

So, we are off to see the "wizard", with breeding Friday and Sunday. Please wish us 10 healthy babies.

Here's hoping for a great litter. She looks great! Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to get the right puppy out of the right dog when they have a few years on them. Here's hoping for the one you want and need. Just because she has a few years doesn't mean she would have trouble or should not be bred. Even back to back. When they only have a small litter they seem to bounce back the next time with a normal one. Roxy, my maltese only had one puppy last time. Her usual is four. I will breed her back to back when she comes in because she is the same age as your girl and I just want two (perfect) puppies from her. One boy, one girl. If I get that I will be in heaven. Good luck on your upcoming litter. Hope there is a lot to pick from when it's time.

We did a side by side yesterday, so yes, that was an AI. We are planning a natural tomorrow. This guy's semen quality was off the charts! He is almost 8, so I wanted to see the little swimmers to make sure he was not shooting blanks.

I always do ovulation timing whether it is a natural breeding or not. Not only does it give me the best advantage in terms of what day(s) to breed, and conception rates, it also gives me the due date. This litter is due on April 8.
