THis looks like a beautiful quilt square!!
Where did you get your eggs from?
Where did you get your eggs from?
get my eggs from a couple that raises chicks here in my county
if the room humidity is running at 55% I would dry out the water troughs and incubate dry.. check the air cells during incubation to make sure they are on track.. then add water ONLY if the air cells get too big too fast (numbers indicate days of incubation)
chances are your last batch either drowned in the eggs or died from carbon dioxide poisoning.. if you cracked open any of the eggs what were the chicks like?.. if they were extremely wet and there was any fluid in the eggs then it would indicate that they drowned.. if they were just moist chances are it was carbon dioxide poisoning.. there are a few other things that can cause late day death .. but it's usually one of those two
55% room RH is about perfect for dry hatching if you have a styrofoam type incubator. Yinpu posted good diagrams to use when candling on the days listed for comparison. WHen you look on day 7 you can adjust the humidity to dry faster or lose slower.
I have very good hatches, usually, in my LG which is all foam when I dry hatch.
Also, X2 Yinepu's info.
Oooo, loving those dark green ones up in the right side corner. Very pretty. And then you have those beautiful blue eggs on the lower right side corner. What are the dark eggs? Marans? Welsummer?
