I am also having problems with hatching showgirls. I am on my third attempt. I got some info that I think I will try, got it off the showgirl thread

Deb says to try the sitting them up in a turner, with the turner off, bator on, for a week, give or take a couple of days..then turn the turner on. Gives shipped eggs air sacs a chance to settle and stay put. I am going to try this. Won't hurt after all I've been through with the showgirl disappointments. I only had two hatch this last time, one before.

I will be interested to hear that it helps. I've read something similar about shipped eggs in general.

I let mine start the first 24 hours in the incubator with no turning, but have not tried a whole week. I do this with all my shipped eggs. Then I have them hatch upright in the egg carton/cup things. This does seem to help. I am not about to give up!

ok up to 17 babies and there are still eggs in the bator TRYING to hatch, but Im tickled with my babies so far and just have to share pics with everyone lol

I have 3 chicks and one more egg that needs to pip. I am going to wait abput 2 more days. Until day 25.

Well my official Fathers day hatch was a total bust. Out of the 8 Muskovy eggs I set 2 failed to develop, 3 quit early and 3 quit late. I figured they were dead on day 30, but left them in until day 37 just in case. Finally tossed them Sunday

On a bighter note I had broodies hatch 2 poults and 2 chicks
