The Fathers Day Hatch-A-Long!!! The Last Day To Set eggs Is June 3rd!!!!

I have a hen that went broody yesterday does that count, she only has a couple eggs going to go get her some grocery store eggs and see what happens.

well.. the first duck eggs are looking good.. though I have to keep an eye on temps today since they are calling for it to get to 97 .. ick
the first two batches of goose eggs were damaged in shipment.. so they have been tossed.. so now i have 4 goose eggs that went in yesterday and the other duck eggs will go into the bator tonight

set 11 store bought and two from a broody this morning..

Does anyone else have issues with collecting eggs and putting them in the fridge? I look at them and say these could be some cute little chicks! Then I tell myself, those cute little chicks grow up and I am maxed out with space!

I wish! You don't know how lucky you are to be able, from the sounds of it, to have a rooster or two. I can't have roosters. :(

Is it possible to put duck eggs in with chicken/turkey eggs, or is that just asking for a poor hatch rate? I'm dying to set duck eggs. THe one incubator and one hatcher I should be grateful for but dang I need another just for the duck eggs.

edited for mispell. sorry.

Quote: I'm sorry you can't have roosters. THey can be noisy, especially at , actually make that, especailly BEFORE dawn crowing. A friend suggested keeping the boys in the coop to muffle the noise until let out time. THough I still find that noisy with the coop about 20 feet away from my bedroom window. You may not get fertile eggs but you don't have the incessent crowing either.
