:woot Glad you are having a better succes rate?  Did you increase or decrease the humidity?


Decreased to almost no added. Cynthia is in the same area with low humidity and higher altitude. I had one batch with some yolk problems. Decreased temp slightly so they weren't as early, and less humid. No problems with absorption, but last three did stick. Wetted them a bit and they hopped out.

Congrats on your hatches! I'm liking those no stress ones.

Fingers crossed for those turkey pips!

sounds like everyone is doing good on this hatch so far!! well I have 16 ADORABLE babies!!!! I'v been smileing all evening ,, still have some eggs in the hatcher that hasnt done anything yet but Im gonna give them all a chance so im waiting untill wed before i dis any of them,, 16 babies though!!! all are healthy and lively it looks like,, my problem now is i cant keep my hands off them lol ,, the weirdest thing happened, with all my barnyard mix eggs I also set 2 eggs I took out of my frig from a grocery store (just to try) and 1 of them HATCHED!!!! pretty little white chicken,,Im just amazed by that,, never in a million years thought that they would really hatch,, you know my grandmaw always said a June chicken would not live, has anyone else heard this? mine appear to be FINE

How long does it usually take a chick to zip?? Then hatch out??

It really depends on the chick. I have had some pip, zip and hatch in under an hour and I have had them take close to 24 hours.


I had one showgirl hatch this morning between 5-6am. Not a single thing for the rest of them all day long...not one single pip out of 13 eggs in there...it is sooo hard to be patient. I am going crazy here!!!
