That thin feather cover makes them quite easy to pluck.

They aren't "balding" They are simply outgrowing their clothing.

Mine fully feathered...I think it has a lot to do with exposure to the outside temps and their growth pattern. Mine were free ranged from their 2nd week and came to processing at 11 wks with good feathering all over their bodies, clean birds without body odor or filth on their feathers.

Would you think they are ready for the heat lamp to be off? Night time temp is in the 50-60s range and there are 12 of them.

I've learned from others that they should start out at 95 degress and decrease 5 degrees per week.
