I have a 5 1/2 month old barred rock that I am waiting on to lay. I was wondering what some signs are that she may have her first egg coming. Thank you for any help :)

The signs to look for are a swollen, bright red comb and wattles and the bones in the pullet's pelvis beginning to separate. To check if her pelvis bones have begun to separate, cradle her between your side and arm with her facing your back so you see her rear end. Carefully hold the her feet so it can’t kick. Place your other hand gently on the her rear end. If three prominent bones are close together, don’t expect eggs for a few more weeks, but if the bones have separated, expect eggs soon. Also, if she is about ready to lay you may notice her squatting close to the ground when you walk up to her.

Ok thank you so much. This helped a lot
