The first two are out! Update pg 3w/PICS

Nope. Not in the house. Fifi is happily hunkered down in a dog crate in the chicken coop. I just keep running in and out checking on her. Thankfully she's verrryyyy tolerant of me lifting her up to peek. Everytime I do the first babies pop out and cheep at me. Fifi then frantically stuffs them back under her.
I really am trying to be good and leave her alone! It's sooooo hard to wait. Two down. Five to go!

The mean green envy monster is knocking at my door!

Mama is a white silkie. A very determined broody white silkie. That's why she got to be a mama. I couldn't break the broody!
None of the eggs are actually hers though. If I guessed right when collecting, she has two golden laced wyandotte x buff orp mixes, a couple of pure buff orps, two mille fleur d'uccles and either another MF or a MF x blue silkie. Dunno on those banty eggs. They all look alike to me.

The third egg has been pipped for over an hour. I can see the little beak and it's breathing. At what point do I panic? How long does it take them to zip out? Mama isn't paying any attention to it other than to hunker down over it. Should I be concerned?

I wouldn't panic about the pipped egg at all. It just takes a while. They pip, they zip, then the next thing you know, they're out!

So, just relax and let nature take it's course.
