How is running a flame around inside my coop a preventative?
If he doesn't have mites he doesn't have mites.
Not like mites won't ever move in because the coop had been flamed prior.

live and let live? just because its something you don't understand or practice yourself doesnt mean its unnecessary. different people/cultures view different things as necessary, who are you to make that call? how is it not preventative? a couple bugs get in there and he can kill them before there is an infestation. preventing a bigger problem..
