Yay congrats!!

My little one is almost 5 weeks old now, and I still think it's a Golden Sebright. I'm calling it a she for now, but I guess time will tell. She's very flighty, very active, and while she might not want to sit on my shoulder like my cochin, she wants to me on or very near me most times. She's the loudest of my little bantam crew, and I just love her.

Mine have always been pretty flighty even as day old chicks they are a bit nuts.

Working out genders has been a bit hit and miss for me. One group of chicks I hatched I didn't have any idea male or female till about 8 weeks old, then another group showed up their pink combs at 4 weeks. I'm guessing female for yours too.

Thank you! She's definitely a bit nuts, lol. She'll suddenly get the zoomies and run around squawking loudly for about 10 seconds, scare the others, and then settle down to peck at the grass like nothing happened. I told her yesterday that it wasn't necessary to attract every predator in a mile radius with that piercing screech.

They are just super tiny compared to the fat fluffy leghorns

Next batch of eggs is due to hatch 26th of this month

That's so cool! My friend was in Rural King the other day and she sent me pictures of the bantam bin. She's an enabler, lol. But in it, I saw Golden Sebright chicks. Rilla is 7 weeks old now and beautiful! I would love to have a male. But, I held off on getting any, lol.

I've currently got 11 chicks after losing one on Saturday to FTT. 4 are 7 weeks, 4 are 4 weeks, and 3 are 2 weeks. This weekend I'm adding a M/F pair of 8 week old Porcelain d'Uccles. I've also got 6 more coming from Meyer at the end of this month.

As soon as mine are big enough to tell who is male and who is female, I'll be modifying the flock!

I'm trying to hatch as many as I can this season. I think I'm going to run out of grow out space.... you are welcome to come pick some up lol
